The Organization of Women Executives (OWE) was created in 1975 as an informal group of executive-level women in the Los Angeles area interested in developing stronger relationships with their professional peers. Over the next four decades, the organization grew and evolved a more formal structure to serve its membership, recruit new members, and manage a yearly roster of both formal and informal events.
Today, OWE maintains a membership roster of approximately 130 women representing a wide range of professional pursuits. But the organization has stayed true to its roots. OWE is, above all, about friendship. Our members are deeply interested in continued learning, professional and personal growth, dialogue, and, most importantly, camaraderie and personal relationships. As such, we leave politics, advocacy, fundraising and other equally admirable endeavors to other organizations better suited to these goals. In order to ensure the privacy of our members and maintain the integrity of our organizational purpose, OWE recruits new members via personal contact and invitation only.
Our MembersOur members are talented, ambitious, high-achieving professionals involved in business, government, education, philanthropy and the arts. They include corporate executives, attorneys, bankers, leaders in academic institutions and philanthropic organizations, successful entrepreneurs, and partners in professional service firms. As a group, they are highly motivated to succeed, and possess the experience, education and personal characteristics commensurate with the achievement of their goals. |

I was fortunate enough to join OWE after a cross country move a few years ago. OWE created my network of friends going through similar life experiences as me being a female leader in a high pressure, fast paced job. My friends from OWE are the first I turn to for both personal and career advice and most importantly just to have a good time and relax. Debra Fiori |
